Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are characterised as reddish or purplish streaks or lines on the skin. They often occur when the skin is stretched rapidly due to factors such as pregnancy, weight gain or loss, or growth spurts during adolescence. It’s important to understand that stretch marks are actually a type of scar that forms when the middle layer of the skin called the dermis is stretched beyond its limits. Because stretch marks act as scars, they cannot be completely removed. However, consistent treatment of certain skincare product may help fade their appearance. Retinol is the preferred choice in reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

It’s worth mentioning that individual results may vary, depending on the severity and how old the marks are. Remember, each person’s body is unique, and while stretch marks may be a part of your journey, consistency remains key in improving the overall appearance.
